Big Love Car Wash is a“found family” band: four friends who can’t help but make music together, because the ground trembles and our ears tingle when we do. Providence or fate or the reality of the 21st Century gigging musician found us all plying our crafts in the musical melting pot of Austin, Texas, in 2022, and the band coalesced around the joy we take in collaborating. Our collective backgrounds include bluegrass, jazz, rock, Argentinian folk, Celtic, Americana, and dance fiddling. Big Love Car Wash's sound is rooted in Americana, incorporating diverse acoustic and electric instruments from mandolin to piano. Our energetic live shows branch into swing, indie rock, and lush soundscapes on a dime, always in service of the song and the story being told. Original lyrics from our three songwriters touch on themes of activism and social justice, empathy, and the complex web of human connection. Our debut album was recorded at Arlyn Studios in November 2024 and will be released in Spring 2025, accompanied by a tour of the southwest United States.
