When Bob Appel isn't writing rock 'n' roll songs, he often thinks about how to use all the instruments, toys, trinkets, and nature sounds surrounding him in the studio. He says it is freeing, releasing him from the constraints of two guitars, drums, bass and an occasional B3 part.The result is "Singing Bowl." Yes, the singing bowl makes an appearance, as do the birds outside Hazelnut Studios.
