Growing up on the Eastside of Detroit along 6 Mile, DaeMoneyhung around popular figures like Babyface Ray throughout his childhood. As he grew older he began building a newfound relationship with his father, only to discover that Ray was his uncle. As an adolescent, DaeMoney balanced a curiosity about the streets with an interest in music. Dae remembers going to the studio with Ray where he toldhim "If you're gonna sit down here with this computer, make something out of it." And he thought, "challenge accepted.” Fast forward, he released a successful eight-song collection including his breakthrough hit “Scotty Ppls,” a Detroit-Chicago link with LUCKI. That’s when people realized he was more versatile than the average Detroit artist. By high school, DaeMoney was dropping songs to Soundcloud and YouTube grabbing thousands of streams—even without marketing the tracks. He followed up gaining millions of streams with viral records such as "Gta" and "Who Is That."
